In the Midst is a book that critiques society’s obsession with technology and productivity, highlighting connection with nature and with oneself through carefully selected fragments of books, essays, and poems.
The vivid, full-bleed imagery immerses the reader in scenes so vibrant you can almost feel the wind in your face, drawn mostly from Venezuelan photographers including Reinaldo Diaz and Andres Brewer. The color palette shifts gradually from cool blues to warm oranges to grounded greens. The text column narrows with every chapter, starting nearly full-page in height and gradually contracting, visually portraying the very stillness the book seeks to create.
